Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Not necessarily - but some DIY experience helps. We include detailed assembly instructions and offer full phone support from our installer. If you're comfortable using basic power tools and doing minor building tasks, you can install it yourself.
If you’d prefer a professional setup, we can connect you with a nationwide installation team. Just ask us for a personalised quote.
Regular maintenance helps your sauna look great and perform reliably:
- Exterior wood oiling: Twice per year (~1–1.5 hours each). We recommend Dryden Wood Oil tinted Lite Oak.
- Sauna stones: Replace every 1-2 years depending on use, and occasionally re-stack for airflow.
- Electric heaters: Vacuum loose debris from heater base periodically.
- General cleaning: Use a handheld vacuum to clear debris. Clean the panoramic dome with hot water, mild detergent (like EcoStore), and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Wood-fired systems: Sweep the chimney and empty the ash drawer as needed.

We don’t maintain a retail showroom-that's how we keep our saunas affordable. We operate primarily online, but you can view display models by appointment in selected regions. Contact us to arrange a visit. Or visit us at our popup show rooms around New Zealand.
Our saunas are built using spliced clear-grade Canadian red cedar, meaning finger-jointed boards made from multiple short lengths to create knot-free, uniform panels.
Benefits:
- Minimal warping or twisting over time
- Superior stability compared to knotty timber
- More sustainable - making full use of cedar logs and reducing waste
- Premium looks and performance, at a lower price point than full-length cedar
Perfect for saunas that stand up to thermal stress and changing conditions.
Pre-Order = Reserve Your Model:
- Some models may not be in stock yet. A pre-order ensures your sauna is reserved from an upcoming shipment.
- Normally, delivery lead times range from two weeks up to five months, depending on the model and availability.
Want to avoid waiting? Ask us about pre-order perks we offer to support your patience while your sauna is on its way.
Yes - only externally.
Use Dryden Wood Oil, specifically formulated for cedar and NZ conditions - never stain. Stains create a moisture-trapping surface that can cause damage. Oil helps protect the timber naturally and penetrates deeply.
You’ll need a flat, level, and sturdy platform that can support ~450–700 kg (depending on model). Common base options include:
- Concrete pad
- Compacted gravel
- Pavers, sleepers, or timber decking
Ensure there’s good drainage underneath to prevent moisture buildup, and airflow if raised off ground. If in doubt, we’re happy to consult on your base setup.
Our saunas are precision-crafted in a trusted factory abroad using FSC-certified Canadian red cedar, then shipped to New Zealand. This approach lets us deliver high-end design and performance at a more accessible price for Kiwi customers.
