At the time of purchase, commercial purchasers must acknowledge in writing that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) does not apply to business-related transactions, per section 43 of the Act.
4. What’s Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Damage due to incorrect, unqualified, or non-compliant installation
- Environmental effects including UV damage, frost, mould, or corrosion from neglect
- Cosmetic wear and tear, natural timber variations, knots, warping, or fading
- Improper use, failure to maintain, or misuse
- Use of unauthorised accessories or chemicals (e.g. chlorine in chillers)
- Sand, grit, or contaminants entering pumps or electrical systems
- Power surges, incorrect voltage, or unregulated power sources
- Alterations or modifications from the product’s original design
- Damage in transport after initial delivery to customer
- Exceeding safe operating temperatures (typically 95°C)
- Damage from rodents, termites, flooding, or ground movement
- Products purchased second-hand, as demos, or through clearance sales
- Consequential loss or third-party liability from product use
These exclusions only apply where the excluded event caused or contributed to the failure or damage. This warranty does not override your rights under New Zealand law.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain your warranty coverage, you must:
- Use only Peak Saunas - approved components, filters, and accessories
- Install the product on a stable, level, and suitable foundation
- Change water filters every 1–3 months as appropriate
- Keep the system free of sand, debris, and chemicals
- Treat external timber regularly (e.g. with CD50x or equivalent)
- Cover outdoor saunas when not in use
- Maintain ventilation for electrical systems
- Clean with mild products (e.g. water and vinegar only – no harsh chemicals)
- Use towels in saunas and avoid entering soaking wet
- Seal outdoor infrared saunas using a waterproofing sealant (e.g. Sika Clear MS)
- Comply with all product manuals, care guides, and safety recommendations
Failure to adhere to these responsibilities may limit or void warranty coverage, but only where such failure results in or contributes to the fault.
6. Important Installation & Safety Information
- All electrical installation and disconnection must be completed by a licensed electrician, compliant with the NZ Electrical (Safety) Regulations 2010 and AS/NZS 3000 standards.
- Proof of qualified installation may be required to validate a warranty claim.
- Improper electrical work will immediately void the warranty.
7. Repairs, Replacements & Credit
If a product is found to be faulty:
- Peak Saunas may offer a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the severity of the issue
- If the model is discontinued, a store credit for the original purchase price may be offered
- Products must be clean, drained, and safe to handle before return
- Return freight, disassembly, and reinstallation costs are not covered unless required under the CGA
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, a substantial failure entitles the purchaser to choose between a replacement, refund, or repair.

- Peak Saunas is not liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost income or business
- We are not liable for site costs, including installation, removal, or building modifications
