Peak Saunas – Commercial Use Warranty

This Commercial Warranty outlines the terms and conditions under which Peak Saunas Ltd provides warranty coverage for saunas used in commercial settings.

1. Sauna Warranty Coverage

 

 

Subject to written approval from Peak Saunas, this warranty applies to the original purchaser of a sauna intended for commercial use.

 

Warranty Periods:

• Structural warranty (wooden components): 1 year from the date of delivery or the date the sauna is moved into off-site storage.
• Components and heating systems: 1 year from the date of delivery, covering defects in workmanship and materials.

After 12 months, coverage is limited to the supply of replacement parts only. Labour, freight, and service fees are not included.

 

This warranty is for parts only and excludes:

• Routine upkeep (e.g., oiling, cleaning, tightening barrel bands)
  
• Labour costs or callouts
  
• Transport or reinstallation expenses

 

 

2. Accessories Warranty

 

All accessories used in a commercial environment are covered for 1 year from the delivery date, subject to standard terms and exclusions.

 

 

3. What’s Not Covered (Exclusions)

 

This warranty does not cover:

• Damage from improper installation or unqualified electrical work
  
• Use on unsuitable surfaces or in non-ventilated, unprotected areas
  
• Exposure to sunlight while still wrapped in protective plastic
  
• Environmental damage from flooding, ground movement, or Acts of God
  
• Natural timber behaviour (e.g., minor warping, hairline cracks, fading)
  
• Pest damage (e.g., rodents or termites)
  
• Damage during subsequent transport or third-party freight handling
  
• Excessive heating of the sauna (above 95°C)
  
• Demo units or products sold as "scratch & dent"
  
• Saunas used in high-volume environments (e.g., hotels, gyms, clubs) where the user load exceeds design recommendations
  

 

 

4. Warranty Limitations

 

This commercial warranty is subject to the following conditions:

• It is non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser
  
• The sauna must not be modified or altered from its original design
  
• Any damage caused by misuse, neglect, or non-compliance with Peak Saunas' care and installation instructions will void coverage
  
• Coverage excludes wear and tear, accidental damage, improper maintenance, or installation not carried out to New Zealand national electrical standards
  

If a defect is identified, the Buyer must notify Peak Saunas in writing within 7 days of becoming aware, outlining the issue and the context in which it occurred.

 

 

5. General Responsibilities & Warnings

 

Commercial owners are responsible for:

• Performing regular inspections of screws, bands, and structure
  
• Oiling cedar surfaces at least twice yearly
  
• Avoiding excessive moisture buildup under or around the unit
  
• Not leaving wrapped products exposed to direct sun for extended periods
  
• Storing uninstalled saunas in shaded, weather-protected locations
  

Failure to follow these maintenance and storage practices may void the warranty.

 

 

6. Limitation of Liability

 

To the fullest extent permitted under New Zealand law, Peak Saunas Ltd, its agents, or employees shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., loss of business or profits)
  
• Personal injury, property damage, or usage disruptions, unless directly caused by a proven defect in the sauna product
  
• Any costs related to building modifications, delivery logistics, freight, or removal/reinstallation
  
• Advice regarding local consents or regulatory requirements — all such matters must be independently confirmed with your local council
  

Where the product is purchased for business purposes, the protections of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 do not apply.

 

 

7. Electrical Installation Requirements

All electrical work (installation and disconnection) must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor in compliance with:

• The NZ Electrical (Safety) Regulations 2010
  
• Relevant national and local codes of compliance
  

Failure to follow these requirements will void this warranty.

Peak Saunas reserves the right to request written proof of professional installation.
